New Hyundai IONIQ 5 Review

Capable of competitive driving and long range travel, the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 sets a benchmark for others to follow. The popular rear-wheel drive model with the long range battery generates 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

This model promises 303 miles of electric range and earns an EPA estimated 114 mpge. This shakes out to 132 mpge in the city and 98 mpge on the interstate.

To the right of the steering wheel, entertainment and navigation are easy to find with the 12.3-inch touchscreen with HD Radio. This year Hyundai expands the dash tech by making it possible for every Ioniq 5 to have a WiFi hotspot with the appropriate subscription.

For 2025, the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been equipped with more safety for the second row. The automaker improved the seatbelt adjustments and added rear airbags. Another new safety feature is a haptic steering wheel.
