Style features like wraparound headlights, front fog lights, and muscular wheel arches give it a lower, sportier profile. This is a compact car like none before it. The superbly designed interior gives you more space than the Toyota Corolla, the Honda Civic, and even the Nissan Maxima. In fact, the 2012 Hyundai Elantra has so much room that the government classifies it as a midsize car instead of a compact like Corolla or Civic. Elantra also has the most front leg room in its class. Designed in Southern California, the Elantra integrates a sloping, coupe-like roofline and an increased wheelbase to give it a sporty, low profile that leaves its boxier competitors behind.		Hyundai Elantra Interior With more interior space than the Toyota Corolla, the Honda Civic, and even the Nissan Maxima, the Elantra has plenty of room for premium features like front and rear heated seats- a compact segment first, leather seating surfaces and even a 360-Watt audio system.		Hyundai Elantra Performance With 29 MPG city and 40 MPG highway, the 2012 Hyundai Elantra gets better standard gas mileage than the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla and even the Ford Focus. The 6-speed manual or automatic transmission has been paired with a sophisticated 1.8L, 4-cylinder engine to also deliver seven percent greater horsepower than its predecessor.


Interior Space Intuitively designed around the driver, audio and climate controls are within easy reach. There's loads of leg room, and generous head and shoulder room for both the front- and rear-seat passengers—plus 14.8 cubic feet of cargo volume—which makes it ideal for long weekends. Special attention has also been paid to reduce NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) which ensures a smooth and quiet ride.		Hyundai Elantra Technology The Elantra defies stripped-down compact car tradition with standard iPod®/USB and auxiliary input jacks plus XM® Satellite Radio. The Limited adds available Proximity Key entry with electronic push button start while high-tech upgrades include 7-inch navigation system, Bluetooth® hands-free phone system with voice recognition, and even a rearview camera to help with parking and backing up.		Proximity Key No more fumbling for the key in your pocket or purse. The Elantra recognizes your key fob and, with a push of a button on the door handle, immediately unlocks the door for you. Now you can get in, fasten your seatbelt, hit the push button start and go.


Elantra Limited The Limited includes attractive bodycolor side mirrors with turn signal indicators that increase visibility and safety, a one-touch power tilt-and-slide sunroof with sliding sunshade, and 17-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels that are not only a stylish addition, but also give you more rubber on the road.		Real-time Content via Satellite Standard on all trims, you get over 170 commercial-free radio stations on XM Satellite Radio, while the available navigation system offers a trial subscription of XM Data Services such as XM NavTraffic for real-time traffic info, XM NavWeather, XM Sports and XM Stocks to keep you informed and in charge.		Navigation System Available on the GLS and Limited, the navigation system with 7-inch screen makes it easy to get from A to B with voice recognition or interactive touchscreen. The system allows you to search for nearby businesses, such as gas stations, ATMs or restaurants.


Integrated Bluetooth® If you must talk while driving, please do it with your hands on the wheel. The Elantra's available Bluetooth® technology with phonebook transfer gives you hands-free access to your phone with a very handy voice-recognition control.		Rearview Camera Available on all trim levels, the rearview camera is displayed on the central in-dash touchscreen, with guidelines that help direct you into tight spots and take the guesswork out of backing up.		Stability Management System The comprehensive Vehicle Stability Management system links and optimizes the function of all active safety features. It incorporates Motor Driven Power Steering, ESC, TCS and ABS in potential collision situations.


6-speed Auto Transmission This is not your ordinary compact ride. With its sophisticated 6-speed automatic transmission, the Elantra generates smooth acceleration for the highway, while balancing power and comfort for in-town traffic.		1.8L, 4-cylinder Engine w/ D-CVVT The all-new aluminum cylinder block and lower crankcase create a 30% lighter engine from the previous generation. Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) optimizes intake and exhaust valve timing with stable combustion for maximum performance at every speed. The continual optimization of camshaft phasing improves engine performance and fuel economy while reducing emissions.		Hyundai Elantra MPG With its exceptionally low coefficient of drag (0.28), a highly efficient 4-cylinder engine, and a responsive 6-speed transmission, the Elantra goes farther with less. At 40 MPG highway for all models, it's more fuel-efficient than Civic and Corolla.


Traction Control System This is not your ordinary compact ride. With its sophisticated 6-speed automatic transmission, the Elantra generates smooth acceleration for the highway, while balancing power and comfort for in-town traffic.		Hyundai Brake Assist In emergency braking situations, many drivers may not apply sufficient braking force to achieve the shortest possible stopping distance. Brake Assist helps detect emergency braking and ensures the maximum braking force is immediately applied to minimize stopping distances.		Six Airbags Some car makers try to get by with the bare minimum. We prefer the opposite, filling the interior with six airbags to help protect you and your passengers in case of an accident.
